Benson Heights – Benson, VT

Benson Heights is a senior apartment community containing 15 affordable housing units, as well as a central community room. One of the biggest challenges of this project was that it was an occupied site. Naylor & Breen had to approach this occupied rehab with a tremendous amount of planning and communication to make sure the project ran smoothly and transitions were seamless. This required (8) different phases to allow 2-3 units at a time to be rehabbed before they were re-occupied and another 2-3 units then went into construction. One of the key players in all of this was Kerry Wetmore a 30 year veteran to N&B. His ability to work with the tenants, listen and be attentive to their concerns was instrumental in the projects success. It went so well that at the end of the project the tenants put on a small lunch for Kerry and his crew. In addition to the building improvements, this project also included a new private water system and state of the art pellet boiler.
