CJS Library – Rutland, VT

This was an extensive rehab, the bulk of which involved converting a college size gymnasium into a two level library. The new mezzanine level of the library was constructed of structural steel with a metal deck which was painted and exposed as finish. A major portion of the existing structural block exterior wall was removed and converted into a window wall. The converted gym is located in a much larger building that houses administrative and classrooms as well. During construction these offices were in use and the classrooms remained in use. Because of this, careful attention was directed toward noise and dust control.
