Farm & Wilderness Animal Barn – Plymouth, VT

This project most resembles the Falconry School Barn not only in the various construction details but also by the end use of the owner. Although the construction is simple, there are specific owner needs that were imperative for a successful project. Sealed concrete floors that will be washed on a regular basis; wood-sheathed wall coverings that will withstand animal use/abuse as well as exposure to water; and an outdoor area for fresh air and room to move. The animal barn is a simple structure - a ground level slab on grade for shelter, grooming, and cleaning; an upper level for hay and other storage, both enclosed by wood framed walls, wood trusses, and vertical rough-sawn siding. The outdoor space was specifically built for animal transport and a composting system.
