Silversmith Apartments – Burlington, VT

In Fall of 2013 Redstone approached Naylor & Breen Builders to be their construction manager for their Silversmith Apartment project in downtown Winooski. Throughout the Fall and Winter, Project Manager Terry White worked closely with Redstone and SAS Architects to get the project needs and budget to align in order to be ready for a February construction start. From the initial groundbreaking to the completion seven months later in August construction went almost seamlessly thanks to careful onsite management by Superintendent Dennis Breitigan. Silversmith Apartments consists of two buildings with 22 residential units, basement storage, and a commercial space on the street.

Silversmith Apartments includes a number of unique and cutting edge construction techniques. The exterior of the building achieved incredible levels of air sealing thanks to careful attention to details by the entire project team and careful coordination with Effciency Vermont including multiple blower door tests. The finished exterior of the building is made up of custom pre-finished flat and corrugated siding panels which were carefully installed by Naylor & Breen in-house craftsmen.
