Company History

Naylor & Breen started in 1978 with a small team of passionate tradesmen, focusing on residential new construction and renovations. During the 1980s, we grew alongside Vermont’s condominium boom — establishing ourselves as a leading framing contractor in the region, with a team of 40 skilled field employees delivering over $1 million in framing services each year.

In 1992, we made a deliberate shift toward general contracting, allowing us to bring our expertise to a broader range of projects. From our very first general construction project, we recognized the value of getting involved during the earliest phases of design. This collaborative approach helps us keep schedules on track, manage costs effectively, and maximize value for our clients.

Today we are one of the region’s strongest contractors and a trusted partner to our clients and colleagues in the industry for commercial, industrial, multifamily, custom residential, and historic preservation projects across Vermont. Our team of over 150 talented individuals brings a unique blend of knowledge, creativity, and careful craftsmanship to everything we do. Because we perform much of the work in-house, from site preparation and concrete, to carpentry, custom cabinetry, and millwork, we’re able to maintain a higher standard of quality, all while honoring our clients’ timelines and budgets.
